ACV and SES summary data

For general information, photos and some technical data about ACV’s developed in Great Britain from the 1960’s to 1980’s centred around the Solent ‘Barties World’ is a great source.

Chris Barton lives on the Isle of Wight and has dedicated a great deal of time to historical matters for the island. His Hovercraft section covers the principal craft designed and produced by Cushioncraft, Hovercraft Development Ltd, Hovermarine, Saunders Roe/British Hovercraft Corporation, Vickers Armstrong, and operators Hovertravel and Seaspeed.

In addition there is a short history of Saunders Roe by J W R Taylor in pdf form. This includes links, many on wiki, to each of the major boats and aircraft build by Saunders Roe, up to the SR.N1 hovercraft.
