Company Background

In 2005, Jason Kuehn founded Slipstream Hover Technologies LLC, which specialized in parts for hovercraft. This grew steadily to be the largest parts-only hovercraft company in the U.S.

In December 2012, Jason formed Hoverstream LLC to supply complete hovercraft. While Slipstream continued to be a leader in hovercraft parts, Hoverstream quickly become a leader in complete turnkey hovercraft. Slipstream stopped operations in 2021.

Hoverstream entered the US market in 2013 with the Hoverstream Marlin (2-3 person) and the Hoverstream Coastal Pro (3-4 person) through an agreement with British Hovercraft Company. These hovercraft were designed for the best possible price to performance ratio at that time.

In 2015, together with The British Hovercraft Company, Hoverstream introduced the award-winning Coastal Pro 2 design that has become one of the best-selling and in-demand hovercraft worldwide. It is one of the few manufactured  light hovercraft in the world available with four stroke engines, which offered significantly less noise with much higher fuel efficiency and reliability.

BHC and Hoverstream parted company at the end of 2022. Since then the focus at Hoverstream has been on developing its own new design for the 2020’s.

Hovercraft

Hoverstream is in the final stages of development of a new robust 4 seat craft, the Evolution. This has a specially designed GRP hull that is lightweight and yet stiff using honeycomb sandwich.

Videos of the development can be seen on the company site, and special pricing is offered for the first ten craft sold. Series production is planned for Q4 2023. The Evolution has separate lift and thrust, large diameter ducted propulsion fan and 4-stroke powering for quietness in operation.

Hoverstream also sells pre-owned hovercraft of various types and can help owners upgrade to new craft such as the Evolution. It has a comprehensive buyers guide for new or pre-owned craft that has very useful tips and down to earth knowledge about what hovercraft are good for (and what they are not).
